Oil heating

Oil is the most popular fuel for households in rural areas which do not have access to the gas main. It’s cheaper than alternative fuels like LPG and easy to use. But the face of heating in the UK is changing, with many more people opting to use renewable technologies.

The house of the future will probably rely on a combination of heating sources rather than one in particular. For example advances in solar thermal technology mean today’s panels are highly efficient, but the UK climate means an alternative source of fuel is usually required for heating and hot water in the winter.

Oil is the perfect partner when combined with renewable technologies such as solar, wind or air source heat pumps. And new developments in bio-liquid heating oil mean that environmentally friendly hybrid fuel systems are a step closer.
